Margaret Morgens grandfather loved forests and purchased this Mount Dandenong property in 1942. It is easy to understand why Margaret and husband Keith Tindall have embraced it. Today, Merrow Cottages sit proudly on eight acres of wild Mountain Ash forest that is home to native bird life, wallabies and wombats.

A stay at Merrow Cottages feels like a fairytale. While the Gatehouse is the larger of the two cottages, with its own fernery/spa room and separate sitting room, dont overlook the Little Cottage. It is quaint, homely and also has a spa. Both feature indulgences at every turn: flowers, bowls of chocolates, a well-stocked kitchen and fluffy bathrobes to name but a few.

Return to bed, or stroll to nearby William Ricketts Sanctuary. Keith and Margaret are passionate about their private forest and it follows through in their accommodation - it is peaceful, luxurious and inspiring. A highly recommended cottage experience close to Melbourne.
