Built in 1853, 4 Star colonial Meredith House has 11 rooms in total; in the house there are six ensuite rooms, and a spa suite with its own sitting room with fireplace, queen bedroom and adjoining spa bathroom. Adjoining the main house we have four Mews style studio rooms, three of which have spas. All of our rooms are furnished to a high standard.
We have a comfortable guest lounge with real wood fire where you can relax with a complimentary glass or sherry, or choose something from our extensive Tasmanian wine list which offers the best of locally produced cool climate wines.
At Meredith House we believe a great Bed and Breakfast should provide two essentials, a great bed and a great breakfast! To this end a full cooked breakfast is included in the room rate using the best, fresh Tasmanian produce. We offer a choice of fresh or preserved fruit and six cereals, porridge, croissant, bacon, free range eggs, Huon Valley mushrooms, locally grown tomatoes and sausages, toast, locally produced jam, marmalade and Tasmania's famous Leatherwood Honey, and a wide range of tea and fresh brewed coffee.
In the centre of town, the house sits on a hill overlooking Great Oyster Bay and has sweeping views of the Freycinet Peninsula. Surrounding the property are beautiful landscaped gardens with a gas barbecue and laundry available for use by guests. We are centrally located for restaurants, shops and services.
We are accredited with the Tourism Council of Tasmania and AAA, which is your assurance of a quality business, we also offer our personal assurance of great service, comfort and hospitality. |

| About The Area : : |
Tasmania ?s East Coast is a coast of contrast - sunshine and sea life, wine and wildlife, crags and beaches, history and adventure. It?s a coast of national parks - Douglas-Apsley, with its quietly flowing rivers, eucalypts and Oyster Bay pines; Freycinet, bushwalkers? and sea kayakers? paradise; and Maria Island, with its history, walks and fauna. It?s a coast of fine food and wine - as you journey on you?ll discover the flavours of the area?s fresh, natural produce.
Place names tell the story of the region?s heritage. Dutch navigator Abel Tasman mapped Schouten and Maria; Frenchman Nicolas Baudin charted Freycinet; nostalgic Welsh settlers named the town of Swansea; Triabunna and Wielangta [more info] |
